Week 2: Product Design, Development and Data Analytics

In our bid to raise female game changers in the software industry, one of the core part of the programme is Product Development. We had intensive Product Development sessions on January 14th 2017. The day started with
Erica Nwankwo, a “Design Evangelist” at Autodesk USA who laid a good foundation to “Design Thinking” and also reviewed our participants’ proposed products in line with the principles of Design Thinking

followed by another session by Eberechi Ndika-Dike, an Associate Architect from Podex Associates who trained them on “Design Thinking for Product Development”. He also did justice to the topic and helped aligned their proposed products to be user-centric.

Temitope Ekundayo, Head Business Development and Strategy at Printivo.com was around in the afternoon to take us on the concrete steps our participants will take in developing commercially viable software products, with lots of real-life examples.

We ended the day with “Data Analytics for Product Development” a very interesting session indeed!
Our facilitator came from where we can call “Data Warehouse”. Abdullateef Abdusalam, the Analytical Lead at Google Inc (Retail, Travel and Local, Sub Saharan Africa) trained our participants on how to track relevant data and make informed decisions in the development of their software products and metrics to measure success.
